Istanbul Veliefendi
The residential complex is located in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul, within the framework of the project 486 apartments was built in about 68,333 square meters. The complex also includes 42 stores and a mini shopping center. The residential park is within easy approachable from the city center and from the Ataturk Airport. The customers wanted an expressly high quality garden architecture and a piece of work. The customers wanted to see a playground, plenty of water, rich vegetation and relaxation places and pergolas as well. The uniqueness of the garden is is a deep car park, that placed under the area. So the planning options have become scarce.
Agenda
Customers believe that a residential park would function as a mini town. Customers believe
that to be friendly relationships between the families and there will be communities, and the
spaces between buildings will be indispensable for their lives and communities functions.
I have designed the spatial structure that all buildings, the central square and the smaller
spaces can be accessed easily by walking paths.
The planned state
The central part of the garden is a trapezoidal spatial space system that has a grassy surface swimming pools, playgrounds and rest space. The central space has bordered with two broad tree lines. The central space's pools have been designed with 2- 2.5 m wide and 30-40 cm deep line that ensure aren't the barriers around the water surface. The grassy surface is fragmented in several places, triangular sloping planes with wood covered resting spaces. A giant pergola runs through a central pool runs, under the pergolas are resting spaces.
The tree lines will separate also the areas where I planned smaller intimate spaces. In this small intimate spaces are pergolas and resting places. The resting spaces has bordered varied size with shrubs and flower beds. I used simple materials: concrete blocks, wood panels, exposed concrete surfaces change each other. The playground enclosure is made of gummy cover. The material of the lamppost reflects on materials used in garden.
